Job Summary
Live Events Producer responsibilities include leading setup and execution in the field, developing the rundown, overseeing pre-production, prepping the crew and commentary team with storylines and the coverage plan, and ensuring equipment inventory is managed and returned in working order. This role requires frequent travel (up to 80%), and work during evenings, weekends, and holidays. The producer will travel nationally to produce broadcasts for various sports and events, coordinate broadcast needs with internal and external partners, manage production team personnel, adapt to multiple roles during shows, create and maintain tech books, organize efficient technical setup and tear-down, perform inventory checks, drive production quality improvements, oversee end-to-end production through pre-production, live broadcast, and post-event review, manage production planning with schedules and timelines, troubleshoot issues, build and maintain relationships with partners and crew, and leverage on-site, remote, and cloud-based production models.
Required Qualifications
- Familiarity with on-site, remote, and cloud based production models
- Proven experience producing events in a live streaming or broadcast environment
- Experience with storytelling, editing, shooting, lighting, and audio
- Critical thinking and troubleshooting experience
- Ability to lead, execute and deliver in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment
- Familiarity with software based production tools, such as OBS and vMix, as well as Blackmagic ATEM
- Familiarity with Prosumer level cameras (e.g. Panasonic CX350 and CX10, Marshall POV cameras, Panasonic PTZ, etc.) and fiber optic cabling and connectivity
- Ability to manage simultaneous tasks and communicate progress with multiple parties
- Self-managing skills to dig into projects, set timelines and stick to them
- Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with show talent prior to and throughout the execution of the broadcast to further storylines and keep the event relevant
- Familiarity with broadcast graphics systems is a strong plus (Singular Live, Ross Expression, Chyron, GT Title, Characterworks)
- Experience with Google and/or Excel spreadsheets and data integration with graphics systems a plus
- Ability to meet high travel requirements, including weekends and holidays
