Job Summary
Live-in waking night carer responsible for monitoring a client with epilepsy and learning disabilities from outside the bedroom, remaining awake and alert, monitoring visual screens, and responding per established protocols. Duties include detecting seizures, calmly managing incidents, administering required night-time medications, providing 2 hours of break-cover to daytime staff, and maintaining precise overnight records with thorough handovers to morning staff and the care manager. The role operates on a fixed 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off rota within a supportive team, with a focus on safety, vigilance, attention to detail, and adherence to care protocols. Requires proven epilepsy/seizure management experience, understanding of learning disabilities/autism, reliable night-shift performance, and valid UK right-to-work status.
