Job Summary
Conduct daily personal care, hygiene, and mobility assistance for clients while planning meals, managing light housekeeping, and administering prescribed medications. Provide companionship, accompany clients on shopping trips, and respond promptly to health changes or emergencies. Ensure clients take their medications appropriately and adhere to dietary constraints during cooking duties. Maintain reliable transportation to transport clients across the Deep East Texas area, including Lufkin and Huntington, while complying with state health and safety standards. This role offers opportunities for advanced training in dementia or Alzheimer's care.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Drivers License
- Car Insurance
- Reliable Personal Vehicle
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Training in First Aid and emergency response
- Excellent time-management skills
- Reliable transportation to get to and from client homes at the times you're scheduled to provide care
- Confidence in physical endurance when it comes to things like carrying groceries and physically supporting a client
- Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints
- Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards (ex., background check)
- Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten the day of each client
