Job Summary
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer, completing DOT forms at the end of each trip. Drive to and from poultry farms, completing one to four trips daily or nightly with a range of 30 minutes to four hours. Carry cover during winter and assist with covering the load when temperatures drop below 30 degrees. Cross scale the tractor and trailer before departing and when returning, fill trucks with fuel, and secure empty and full modulars appropriately. Transport live chickens from farms to the processing plant safely, humanely, and within required timeframes while adhering to all safety, animal welfare, and biosecurity protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years' experience driving tractor-trailers
- Class A CDL license
- Must be able to safely operate a commercial vehicle while following all safety, animal welfare, and biosecurity protocols
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. regularly
