Job Summary
Conduct live chicken hanging on moving shackles by picking birds by the thighs and securing feet with feed. Control hydraulic bars to maintain continuous product flow while adhering to NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and all local, state, and federal regulations. Maintain personal protective equipment and comply with safety policies throughout the shift. This role requires standing up to 8 hours, lifting up to 60 lbs, and working in high heat and dusty environments with frequent exposure to raw animal odors. Candidates must be self-motivated and capable of working nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate
- Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Hatchery or relative poultry industry experience
- Basic math functions and skills
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Stand up to 8 hours
- Lift up to 60 lbs
- Roll and push buggies (~1,000 lbs.)
