Job Summary
Retrieve birds by their feet from a conveyor and hang them in shackles by their feet on a moving line at a rate of 28 birds per minute. Hold birds weighing 2 to 6 pounds by both feet, ensuring proper placement to prevent bruising or damage while maintaining line speed and product quality. Work Monday through Friday from 1:38pm to 11:03pm with regular rotation. Maintain a clean and safe working environment by participating in company and department safety programs. This role supports Perdue Foods' goal of becoming the most trusted name in premium proteins.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer within the past 3 years in a comparable field
- Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company
- Able to stand for several hours
- Work may include lifting (up to 50 lbs), reaching, bending, pushing boxes on conveyor assembly
Desired Qualifications
- High School or equivalent is beneficial but not required
- Experience in a poultry processing/manufacturing environment
- Prior experience hanging live chickens
