Required Qualifications

• •High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• •Class B CDL with Tanker endorsement
• •Class A CDL
• •1 to 3 yrs. experience
• •Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• •Must be able to carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds
• •Must be able to stoop, bend, and crouch
• •Must be able to use hands, arms, and legs fully
• •Must see well (either naturally or with correction)
• •Must be able to read and interpret road maps
• •Must be able to practice good safety habits
• •Must be able to work in dusty or dirty surroundings
• •Must be able to follow instructions and meet set standards for hauling and scheduling
• •Must be able to judge distances and weights accurately
• •Must be able to make decisions based on verifiable standards
• •Must be able to verify load against shipping papers
• •Must be able to drive truck to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and roads in area
• •Must be able to prepare receipts for load picked up
• •Must be able to collect payment for goods delivered and for delivery charges
• •Must be able to maintain truck log according to state and federal regulations
• •Must be able to maintain telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions
• •Must be able to drive truck equipped with public address system through city streets to broadcast announcements over system for advertising or publicity purposes
• •Must be able to load and unload truck
• •Must be able to inspect truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water
• •Must be able to perform emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chains, and spark plugs
• •Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
