Job Summary

Conduct daily classroom instruction promoting social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth for infant and toddler students. Build a strong, student-centered environment inspired by Reggio Emilia philosophy, preparing materials, maintaining displays, and planning developmentally appropriate work. Record daily observations, generate bi-weekly lesson plans, and integrate arts, cultural events, and outdoor activities. Maintain open communication with families, colleagues, and the Director while fostering equitable participation and democratic citizenship. Participate in regular evaluations, level meetings, and professional development to refine practice. Work full-time on campus, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, while collaborating with the teaching team on project work.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree (with transcripts) in Early Childcare Education (ECE)
  • 90-hour certification
  • 45 hours of Infant/Toddler certification
  • 45 hours of Child Development certification
  • 9 hours of Communication certification
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Willingness to immediately obtain CPR and First Aid Certification upon hire
  • Must be able to ascend/descend stairs in a school building
  • Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children
  • Must be able to see and hear well enough to keep children safe
  • Must be able to engage in physical activity with children
  • Must be physically able to turn, sit, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crawl, stoop, push, pull, walk around campus, and stand for prolonged periods
  • Must be physically able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds
  • Must be able to comply with background checks, including fingerprints, as required by the licensing agency and/or state regulations
  • Willingness to work some extended hours, night and weekends, as needed
  • Must have exemplary interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate ability to cultivate positive relationships with families, colleagues, and students
  • Create a safe, nurturing environment where children can learn and play
  • Possess outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
  • Pays great attention to details
  • Excellent computer skills, including use of iPads
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality, have good judgment and decision-making skills
  • Must be able to work during all hours as may be assigned by the School
  • Must be able to perform their job duties on campus unless otherwise permitted by the Head of School
  • Must complete a background check (including criminal records, employment history review, online and social media check) satisfactorily before any candidate can begin work
