Job Summary
Conduct daily classroom support and maintenance by wiping tables, sweeping floors, and cleaning toys and materials before and after snacks and activities. Assist with snack and meal preparation, supervise children during meals and nap times, and help with hygiene routines, diaper changes, and conflict resolution. Actively supervise students indoors and outdoors while collaborating with teachers to maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning environment. This on-call substitute role at Roland Park Country School involves working Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 6pm.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to stand, sit, and move around the classroom for prolonged periods
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds, bend, squat, and perform other physical tasks related to cleaning and child care
- Must be able to ascend/descend stairs within the school
- Must be able to dress for a variety of weather conditions
- Knowledge of basic hygiene and cleaning protocols
- Ability to follow hygiene protocols and maintain a safe, clean environment
- Positive communication skills to support collaboration with teachers, students, and parents
- Ability to help children with conflict resolution and foster a respectful, supportive classroom environment
- Comfortable performing tasks that involve cleaning, organizing, and supervising children
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in an early childhood setting
