Job Summary
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by continuously picking up litter, removing loose debris, and patrolling assigned areas during loading delays. Perform routine yard inspections, walk rolling magnets to collect metal hazards, and move empty and loaded trailers safely using a yard truck. Inspect trailers prior to loading, pull loaded units from the tunnel to the tarp station, and tarp trailers by climbing stairs and platforms as needed. Cycle trailers through the loading process to support efficient operations while reporting unsafe conditions or equipment issues to management. Requires minimum six months of trailer jockey experience, valid driver's license, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds outdoors in varying weather.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months of trailer jockey/yard truck experience
- Ability to safely operate yard equipment and maneuver trailers in tight spaces
- Strong attention to safety and detail
- Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity
- Dependable attendance and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Have a valid driver's license
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Pass a pre-employment background check
- Must be physically able to safely walk up and down stairs multiple times throughout the shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and moving vehicles
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to frequently walk, stand, bend, lift, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to climb stairs and access trailer platforms for tarping operations
