Litigator

Job Summary
Manage and assist with sophisticated commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution, including drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs. Conduct examinations for discovery, mediations, and arbitrations while performing complex legal research and developing case strategies. Regularly appear before Ontario courts and work directly with clients, experts, and opposing counsel across corporate disputes, insolvency, and real estate matters. Collaborate with partners and associates to contribute to client development and firm initiatives. This hybrid role in downtown Toronto offers strong mentorship, a billable-hour target of approximately 1,500 hours, and exposure to a broad litigation group within a full-service business law firm.
Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years of commercial litigation experience
- Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
- Experience independently managing files and taking responsibility for key litigation steps
- Strong legal research, analytical, drafting and advocacy skills
- Excellent judgment and the ability to provide practical, business-minded advice
- Strong interpersonal, communication and client relationship skills
- A collaborative approach and an interest in working with lawyers across a broad litigation group
- A strong academic record and professional references
- A Canadian law degree is preferred
