Job Summary
Handle litigated and complex injury claims stemming from Personal Auto and Commercial Auto Liability policies. Duties include determining coverage and drafting reservations of rights letters; conducting investigations; managing litigation with defense counsel and experts; maintaining diaries and claim files; researching and interpreting case law, statutes, and coverage forms; evaluating use of experts/field investigators; preparing claim evaluations to secure settlement authority; establishing indemnity and expense reserves; conducting onsite reviews of defense counsel; and adhering to Department of Insurance regulations.
Required Qualifications
- College Degree and / or 5 years of applicable claims adjusting experience
- Knowledge of legal and medical terminology
- Excellent negotiation, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to pass written examinations where required by state statutes to become a licensed claim adjuster
