Job Summary
Litigation Secretary at a labor & employment law firm in Woodland Hills (hybrid). Responsible for drafting and formatting legal documents, engagement letters, and court filings; proofreading for accuracy; maintaining client files and calendars; managing attorney deadlines; coordinating meetings, travel, and expense reimbursements; entering timekeeper entries and billing; reviewing vendor invoices and preparing/pre-billing client bills. Requires 5+ years as a litigation secretary, familiarity with state/federal filing procedures (Pacer, ECF), strong MS Office skills, and experience with document management systems (iManage, CompuLaw, Aderant knowledge a plus).
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required (college degree preferred)
- 5+ years of experience as a litigation secretary
- State and federal court filing experience (manual and electronic)
- Knowledge of State and Federal filing procedures (e.g., Pacer, ECF)
- Strong MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with document management systems (e.g., iManage, CompuLaw, Aderant knowledge a plus)
- Ability to format documents to firm standards (including table of contents and table of authorities)
- Ability to manage deadlines and calendars; electronic calendaring and docketing
- Experience with time-entry processes and litigation codes
- Expense reimbursements, vendor invoice review, and client bill processing
- Ability to coordinate travel and meetings
- Engage in pre-bills and client bill submissions
