Job Summary
Format briefs, pleadings, and correspondence; file documents with state and federal courts using e-filing knowledge. Proofread all documents for accuracy before distribution or filing. Update client files and maintain attorney calendars via Outlook and Milana Docketing system. Coordinate travel arrangements for assigned attorneys. Enter, review, and revise timekeeper timesheets with litigation codes. Prepare attorney reimbursements, mileage, and vendor invoices for payment. Review and submit pre-bills and client bills. Maintain proficiency with Lexis Nexis, Westlaw, Pacer, ECF, iManage, and Concur. Type at 65+ wpm. Work full-time hybrid in Portland, Maine at $29.44–$46.15 hourly.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a high school diploma
- A minimum of five years of experience as a legal secretary
- Proficiency with Lexis Nexis, Westlaw, Pacer, ECF, iManage or a document management system, Milana Docketing, and Concur
- Demonstrated knowledge of legal terminology, legal documents, and legal processes in the Litigation Department, including the ability to mark and generate a table of contents and table of authorities
- Accurate typing at a net speed of 65+ wpm
- Strong computer proficiency in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Time Entry, e-filing and database software
