Job Summary
Assist attorneys with propounding and responding to discovery, including interrogatories, requests for admissions, and subpoenas. Manage trial preparation by coordinating witnesses, organizing exhibits, charts, and trial notebooks. Independently obtain and organize medical records, calculate damages for medical expenses, lost wages, and property damage. Prepare hearing binders and motions, and maintain routine communications with clients, experts, and attorneys regarding case status. Utilize legal technology and case management tools to streamline workflows in a team-oriented environment. This hybrid role requires 2-3 days per week in the Northbrook office. Candidates must possess paralegal certification, three to five years of litigation experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
Required Qualifications
- Paralegal certification
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a litigation paralegal
- Experience with litigation in the state of Illinois
- Solid understanding of civil litigation (state and federal deadlines and rules)
- 2-3 days/week in office (666 Dundee Road, Suite 303, Northbrook, IL 60062)
- High proficiency in MS Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint and Outlook and Adobe Acrobat
- Ability to think and act independently and with minimal supervision
- Articulate, organized and a team player with excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Professional appearance and demeanor
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with litigation in the state of Illinois is highly encouraged
