Litigation Paralegal

Job Summary
Manage case calendars and ensure all court deadlines are tracked and met. Electronically file documents in federal and state courts under attorney supervision, conduct online research, and draft pleadings, notices, and motions. Request and summarize medical records while preparing medical chronologies for attorney review. Maintain detailed organization and critical thinking skills to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities. Work overtime as needed to meet business needs. This role supports attorneys in our Richmond office within a firm with over 1,000 professionals across multiple states.
Required Qualifications
- at least 5 years of litigation experience in a law firm
- understanding of a paralegal's role in the litigation life cycle
- knowledge of Virginia state and federal court procedures
- strong organizational skills
- well-developed critical thinking skills
- detail oriented
- ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities
- Ability to conduct research as needed using various research tools
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed to meet business needs
Desired Qualifications
- 2 or 4-year degree
- paralegal certificate
- experience in case preparation from beginning to end
