Job Summary
Paralegal role within the Mass Tort Law and Briefing Team at Morgan & Morgan. Responsibilities include finalizing legal documents (pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, memoranda), e-filing in state and federal courts, communicating with clients/courts/counsel, tracking docket activity and deadlines, creating tables of contents and authorities for briefs, maintaining organizational case-file systems, organizing exhibits and discovery, assisting with interrogatories and discovery requests, gathering information from various sources, liaising between trial teams and other firms, attending group meetings, and performing related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
- Familiarity with federal and state e-filing systems
- Experience in Mass Torts, Class actions, Personal Injury, Workers Compensation, Premises, First Party, Medical Malpractice or other injury related practice areas(preferred)
- At least 2 years of working experience as a litigation paralegal or in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting
- Ability to multitask, organize, prioritize, handle a fast-paced environment, and manage workload with a positive attitude and minimal supervision
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as attention to detail
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program (preferred)
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Word, Excel
- Familiarity with federal and state e-filing systems
