Job Summary
Of Counsel in DLA Piper’s Litigation group, Business and Commercial subgroup, focusing on M&A-related disputes. The role is open to multiple office locations (Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, DC, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Raleigh, Short Hills, Wilmington). Responsibilities include client communications, supervising associates, collaborating with experts, assisting with fact development and depositions, reviewing and drafting discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda, and developing case strategy. Essential capabilities include superior research, analytical and writing skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, independent and team work, multi-tasking, prioritization, and strong project management. The position emphasizes delivering quality work product, meeting deadlines, fostering positive work relationships, and complying with firm policies. The office-hybrid arrangement is noted as Hybrid with regular in-office presence and some flexibility for work-from-home.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in M&A post-closing indemnity disputes and/or representations and warranty insurance disputes
- Experience with M&A transaction documentation and damages calculations
- Bar Admission Admitted to practice in the jurisdiction in which you are applying
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to supervise associates and work independently or as part of a team
- Strong research, analytical, and writing skills
- Strong project management and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Comfort working in a collaborative, fast-paced law firm environment
- Willingness to engage with clients and develop case strategy
- Flexibility to work with multiple offices in different jurisdictions
