Job Summary
Litigation LAA role supporting 1 Partner in Insurance Defence alongside a Paralegal in Vancouver; perform LAA work from file opening to closing, draft simple pleadings and records, file documents with court registries, manage deadlines, and communicate with counsel, clients, and experts. Requires an LAA certificate or relevant experience, 3+ years civil litigation experience, strong organization, attention to detail, client-facing communication, ability to work under deadlines, proficiency in MS Word, and knowledge of BC Supreme Court Civil Rules (ProLaw is an asset). Hybrid role based in Vancouver with collaboration in a high-calibre litigation team.
Required Qualifications
- LAA Certificate or relevant experience
- 3+ years of experience in civil litigation (areas ideally: Construction Law, Personal Injury, Health Law, Class Actions)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to deal directly with clients and all levels of staff
- Ability to meet deadlines under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude
- Excellent attention to detail, organized and proactive, able to multitask and handle changing priorities
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in MS Word and ability to learn new software and technology quickly
- Knowledge of the BC Supreme Court Civil Rules and ability to interpret Rules and Acts
- Experience with ProLaw an asset
