Job Summary
Litigation Docket & Court Services Specialist provides expert docketing, court rules interpretation, case research, and electronic filing across state and federal courts in the Firm. Responsibilities include managing deadlines and reminders using court rules-based docketing software, reviewing litigation documents to extract relevant dates, performing high-level research using databases such as PACER, Westlaw, Bloomberg Law, DocketBird, and CourtLink, responding to procedural inquiries from attorneys, creating and distributing docket reports, and ensuring consistency in docketing across offices. Requires extensive knowledge of State and Federal Court Rules and procedures, familiarity with electronic filing practices, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with the Docket Manager and legal teams. Working conditions: Normal law office environment.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of recent litigation experience
- Experience docketing and/or supporting litigation in multiple states (Federal and State)
- Expert knowledge of court rules, procedures and electronic filing practices in Local, State and Federal Courts
- Experience with CompuLaw desired
- High level understanding of litigation phases from Complaint to Appeal
- Expert knowledge of legal documents and terminology
- Proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook, Imanage and Adobe
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with diverse attorneys and staff
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Independent but collaborative work style
- Detail oriented with quality control focus
