Litigation Attorney

Job Summary
Manage all phases of civil litigation from case inception through resolution or trial, representing clients in state and federal court proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and hearings. Develop litigation strategy, assess legal risks, and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and legal memoranda. Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other platforms while overseeing document review, interrogatories, and expert coordination. Negotiate settlements and prepare witnesses for trial. Maintain accurate case files ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines. Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to deliver exceptional client service. Requires a J.D., active Arizona State Bar membership, and 5+ years of civil litigation experience.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with the Arizona State Bar
- Minimum of 5 years of civil litigation experience
- Experience handling commercial litigation, contract disputes, business litigation, real estate litigation, tort matters, or similar civil litigation cases
- Strong legal writing, research, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
- Experience managing multiple active litigation matters simultaneously
- Proficiency with legal research platforms such as Westlaw or LexisNexis
- Excellent organizational, negotiation, and communication skills
- Commitment to providing exceptional client service
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
Desired Qualifications
- Bankruptcy litigation experience
- Judicial clerkship experience, preferably with a federal court or state appellate court
- Trial, arbitration, and mediation experience
- Experience representing businesses, developers, financial institutions, or commercial clients
- Strong business development skills and the ability to cultivate long-term client relationships
- Experience mentoring junior attorneys or legal support staff
