Job Summary
Litigation Associate sought to handle all aspects of litigation including research, drafting pleadings and motions, managing discovery, depositions, and assisting in trials and hearings. Responsibilities include preparing and arguing motions under supervision, communicating with clients and counsel, developing case strategies through in-depth factual/legal analysis, managing case files and deadlines, and collaborating across multiple practice areas (commercial disputes, personal injury, labor, matrimonial and family law, corporate or real estate-related litigation). The role also involves participating in settlement negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and contributing to business development and firm initiatives. Requires a J.D., NY State Bar admission (or pending), and 1–5 years of litigation experience with strong writing, research, and analytical skills; ability to manage multiple matters and work both independently and within a team. Compensation target base $90-130k with merit-based bonuses that can push total to $110-160k, plus 7% origination.
Required Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- New York State Bar admission (or pending)
- 1–5 years of litigation experience in a law firm setting
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- Experience drafting motions, handling discovery, and appearing in court preferred
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to client service
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
