Job Summary
Independently manage a caseload of medical malpractice and healthcare liability defense matters from intake through resolution. Draft, file, and argue motions while developing persuasive legal strategies, and conduct depositions to manage discovery through detailed review of complex medical records. Partner with senior attorneys on case strategy, communicate directly with clients and insurance representatives, and prepare for mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials. Represent healthcare professionals in licensing, credentialing, and Department of Health matters as needed. Research sophisticated legal issues and translate complex medical concepts into clear arguments. Stay current on developments in medical malpractice and civil litigation law while using legal technology and remote collaboration tools effectively. Requires an active Washington State Bar license, 2+ years of civil litigation experience, and the ability to travel within Washington State for hearings and depositions.
Required Qualifications
- Active Washington State Bar license in good standing
- 2+ years of civil litigation experience
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and case-management skills
- Experience taking and defending depositions and appearing in court
- Excellent communication, judgment, organization, and attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
- Ability and willingness to travel within Washington State for case-related needs
