Job Summary
Litigation Assistant to support the firm’s legal team with day-to-day operations. Responsibilities include scheduling calendar hearings and deadlines, organizing case files and exhibits, maintaining pleadings and discovery indexes, drafting and proofreading correspondence and legal documents (pleadings and contracts), researching regulations and laws, assisting with case preparation, managing client billing and coordinating client/witness meetings and depositions, organizing documents in paper or electronic filing systems, and providing general administrative support (calendar management, travel arrangements) to attorneys. The role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and on-site work in Washington, DC.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies, Bachelor’s Degree, or a Paralegal Certificate (preferred)
- Experience in Personal Injury, Workers Compensation, Premises, First Party or other injury related practice areas (preferred)
- At least 2 years of experience as an Administrative Assistant preferably in a law firm setting or in a corporate legal department
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including good presentation skills
