Job Summary
Position involves collaborating within an elementary school to support teacher implementation of Language Arts and a balanced literacy approach. Responsibilities include assisting classroom teachers and staff, engaging in planning, co-teaching, modeling, and giving feedback to develop strategies and skills for effective Language Arts instruction; providing ongoing support to grade-level teams and literacy data analysis to identify areas for improvement; coordinating professional development, sharing resources and best practices, and partnering with administrators and Language Arts department to maintain current practices and compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Teaching license with an endorsement at the elementary school level
- Extensive and current experience in elementary; five years minimum preferred
- Excellent organizational, planning, and human relation skills
- In-depth knowledge of instructional best practices
- Knowledge or ability to quickly learn the Language Arts model and programs
- Demonstrate professionalism by working collaboratively with other staff members
- Demonstrate team and relationship-building practices with teachers
- Ability to present material to diverse educational audiences
- Ability to deliver clear, articulate, and grammatically correct oral and written presentations
- Demonstrate diplomacy in all interactions with the school community
