Job Summary
The literacy specialist teacher leads schoolwide literacy initiatives and provides data-driven intervention for students within MTSS, delivering literacy interventions in small groups and one-on-one while supporting teachers with data analysis and instructional decisions. The role includes organizing and delivering professional development and PLCs, contributing to districtwide ELA efforts, coordinating with stakeholders, and staying current on literacy research to inform coaching and district goals.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in education
- Valid DESE Reading license and SEI endorsement
- Minimum of 5 years of successful classroom ELA teaching experience and/or successful literacy intervention teaching experience
- Strong knowledge of ELA standards and evidence-based literacy practices
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills
