Job Summary
Literacy Specialist ready to implement grade-appropriate literacy interventions with both push-in and pull-out strategies. Develops lesson plans and instructional materials, adapts curriculum to student needs, conducts assessments to monitor growth, and collaborates with classroom teachers, special educators, EST Coordinator, and support staff. Provides direct instruction and supports metacognitive skills and self-regulation to improve literacy outcomes. Maintains positive classroom environments, documents student progress, and supports district objectives around equity and inclusion.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in education
- Valid Vermont Teaching License with appropriate endorsements for grade level and subject matter such as English Language Arts and/or reading Instruction
- Training/certification in Orton Gillingham Approach is preferred
