Job Summary
K-2 Literacy Instructional Specialists will administer literacy assessments to students several times per year; use evidence-based instructional strategies and intervention methods to meet identified students' needs; model intervention strategies for general and special education educators; analyze student achievement data and administer progress-monitoring instruments; participate in professional development to improve instructional practices and utilize resources to implement the intervention program; communicate with the Title I Schoolwide Programs Coordinator and apply feedback to improve practice; perform other tasks as directed by the Title I Schoolwide Programs Coordinator.
Required Qualifications
- An associate’s (or higher) degree
- Education-related Field or Work Experience
- Ability to learn various technological resources
- Ability to work collaboratively in a non-traditional, Urban education environment
- Meeting a rigorous standard of quality that demonstrates, through a formal assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in literacy instruction
