Job Summary
Literacy Coach (PK-6) at Mashpee Public Schools to lead literacy curriculum and instruction under Unit A Contract (184 days). Collaborates with classroom teachers to design instructional maps, guides data-driven decision-making, models evidence-based literacy practices, and facilitates professional development to improve reading and writing outcomes. Requires MA DESE Reading-All Levels and/or Elementary 1-6 and/or Early Childhood PK-2 certification, a Master's degree, and strong experience with reading assessment instruments, educational technology, and Massachusetts ELA Curriculum Frameworks. Responsibilities include guiding instructional planning, conducting embedded professional development, evaluating student performance data to inform shifts in instruction, and coordinating with building/district leaders to support literacy across core subjects. Reports to the Assistant Superintendent with collaboration among elementary principals and district directors.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university
- Massachusetts DESE teaching certification in Reading-All Levels and/or Elementary 1-6 and/or Early Childhood PK-2
- Working knowledge of local and state reading assessment instruments and related curriculum
- Technological proficiency and ability to integrate technology into instruction
- Ability to interpret, implement, model, and disseminate research-based best practices in literacy instruction
- Extensive knowledge of MA English Language Arts Curriculum Frameworks and best practices for pacing and implementation
- Demonstrated success in designing and delivering professional learning for adult educators
- Proven ability to collect and analyze student performance data to drive instructional shifts and curriculum development
- Experience collaborating with classroom teachers to create literacy curriculum maps
