Job Summary
Model effective instructional strategies for teachers and train them in data analysis to differentiate instruction. Coach and mentor colleagues while working with educators to ensure research-based programs are implemented with fidelity. Help lead reading leadership teams, facilitate study groups, and support the development and implementation of District Reading Plans based on student assessment analysis. Serve as a job-embedded resource to improve literacy instruction and student achievement. Submit a certified employment application, three references, résumé, and current teaching certificate through the online system before the deadline. A negative TB test result must be on file with Human Resources prior to starting work.
Required Qualifications
- Negative TB Test results
- Bachelor's Degree or higher
- add-on certification for literacy coach/literacy specialist
- Bachelor's Degree or higher
- enrolled and actively participating in the SCDE Literacy Leaders Institute
- attend at least 80 percent of all sessions
- satisfactorily complete all assignments in the SCDE Literacy Leaders Institute
- actively pursuing the literacy coach endorsement by enrollment in a SCDE approved program
- Master's Degree or higher in reading or closely related field
- Valid certification in reading and/or early childhood/elementary
- Five (5) years successful classroom experience
Desired Qualifications
- ADEPT/STEP training
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Literacy Coach / Literacy Specialist credential
