Job Summary
LIT Program Description: a 24-month rotational program to learn multiple aspects of the business. It includes 12 months on site as a technician learning alongside top-quality teammates, progressing to Associate Technician, and then back-office rotations across 3 departments with 4-month rotations. Field Rotation assigns Fellows to a field location at contracted sites, performing routine preventive maintenance and unscheduled troubleshooting on wind turbines using mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic skills, adhering to safety standards and LOTO. Back-office rotations cover departments such as Environmental Health & Safety, Quality, People & Culture, Engineering, Finance & Accounting, IT/SCADA Monitoring, Business Development/Sales & Marketing, Operations Back Office, Supply Chain & Procurement, and Business Process Improvement, with additional learning courses and a capstone project. Learn operational processes such as Plan of Day, Site Budget/Inventory Management, and bid/takeover processes, plus shadowing in recruitment. Back-office rotations will be based in Houston, TX, with some department needs requiring domestic travel. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Wind/Renewable Energy or a related discipline, strong mechanical/reading/comprehension skills, and physical ability to perform climbing and lifting tasks; coupled with safety training and the potential for 401k, PTO, and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University
- Wind/Renewable Energy disciplines preferred, or relevant discipline
- Affinity for mechanical work
- Back-office skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents and follow safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions
- Ability to work with minimal supervision with proper instructions
- Ability to solve problems with concrete variables in standardized situations
- Physical fitness to climb 300 ft, lift up to 100 pounds, and work in extreme weather while wearing PPE
- Ability to pass a physical exam and drug/alcohol screening
- Willingness to frequent domestic travel as part of site rotations
- Interest in rotating through multiple departments (Engineering, Finance, IT, HR, etc.) and completing a capstone project
