Job Summary
Manage the Laboratory Information System under the direction of the LIS Administrator, including daily operations, database updates, system upgrade testing and validation, interface implementation, hardware maintenance, and troubleshooting. Execute project management duties while ensuring CAP compliance and providing shared after hours on-call support. Collaborate with Information Technology and cross-functional teams to communicate across organizational lines, requiring strong analytical and problem-solving skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a clinical laboratory
- IT experience
- Must have excellent communication skills including both oral and written skills
- Must have excellent analytical, problem solving and customer service skills
- Must have the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with teams across organizational lines, including administrative and executive staff
- Must have the ability to multitask and prioritize projects to meet deadlines as required
- Must demonstrate strong technical and computer skills
- Must be adaptable to rapidly changing technologies
- Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Must be self motivated
- Must have the ability to complete projects with little supervision
- Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly
- Must have knowledge of current standards, legislation, practices, delivery systems, documentation methods and trends in medicine
Desired Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
- Certification as a Medical Technologist from a nationally recognized credentialing agency, i.e., ASCP, HEW, or AMT
