Job Summary
Manage staff handling inbound and outbound calls regarding short sale and deed in lieu transactions from borrowers, agents, and attorneys. Analyze submitted transactions to ensure investor approval and compliance, then work with teams to negotiate counter offers that reduce loss severity and meet company valuations. Submit negotiated files to senior management for approval and decline purchase offers with excessive price variances. Track department matrices monthly, manage postponements of foreclosure sales, and attend mediation or settlement hearings requiring up to 30% travel. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience
- Five (5) or more years' mortgage industry experience
- Two (2) or more years of related experience in loss mitigation/negotiation
- Knowledge of mortgage/real estate terminology
- Knowledge of industry and/or company-specific software in sales/collections
- Ability to understand opposing points of view on highly complex issues and to negotiate and integrate different viewpoints
- Ability to make decisions that have significant impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside the immediate work unit
- Ability to organize and prioritize own work schedule on short-term basis (longer than one month) and within allotted work schedules
- Ability to travel up to 30%
Desired Qualifications
- some college courses in business or finance
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite at intermediate level
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
