Liquid Measurement Technician

Job Summary

Operate and maintain ball provers, piston provers, and LACT units to verify meter accuracy and ensure regulatory compliance. Troubleshoot various meter types including Coriolis, turbine, and ultrasonic systems while utilizing EFM flow computers, PLCs, and SCADA for data monitoring. Collect samples, perform field calculations, and maintain tools and vehicles in safe working condition. Follow API, AGA, and ASTM standards while creating accurate job tickets and reports. Full-time role with 8-16 hour days, on-call rotation, and up to 20% overnight travel. Join SPL's nationwide team supporting energy and environmental testing solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in liquid measurement, meter proving, or oil and gas field operations
  • Working knowledge of AGA, GPA, and API measurement standards and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Experience with LACT units, flow meters, proving systems, SCADA systems, PLCs, or EFM flow computers
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to obtain and maintain applicable state measurement certifications and other required qualifications
  • Full-time position with a varying work schedule of 8-16 hours per day
  • Flexibility to participate in on-call rotation schedule, including weekends and evenings as needed
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, including hot, cold, and/or inclement temperatures
  • Daily local travel is required, with up to 20% overnight travel as needed to support other sites

Desired Qualifications

  • Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) strongly preferred
