Job Summary
Unload trucks and railcars with incoming ingredients and final products at a soybean crushing plant using computerized control stations, meters, and scales. Inspect material handling equipment, perform routine adjustments, and respond to alarms or equipment issues. Operate the meal loading and receiving area via HMI, ensuring timely receipt and delivery while complying with safety rules and wearing required PPE. Handle flammable liquids and maintain work areas free of hazards, completing tasks assigned by supervisors and participating in shift activities and continuous improvement efforts. Requires 24/7 plant operation with occasional extended hours.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- 4 years of experience in an industrial environment
- Experience in the operation of skid loaders, front-end loaders and/or forklift
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures
- Ability to operate machinery and computer systems while maintaining compliance with regulatory safety requirements, e.g., OSHA (including PSM), EPA, USDA, ISO 9000 and B-Q-9000
- Mechanical aptitude
- Effective communication skills
- Basic math
- Fundamental PC skills
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders as well as work at heights
- Manage confined space entry
- Withstand extended periods of walking and standing
- Move manufacturing materials, products and equipment of 50 pounds or more which requires bending and lifting
- Attains Level 1 Rail training to assist in basic railyard functions as directed by level progressions
- Must be available for Continuous 24/7 plant operation
- Regular exposure to a variety of temperatures and prevailing weather conditions
- Regular exposure to gases, vapors, dust, odors and flammable liquids
- Occasional exposure to areas with wet floors and high volume of noise
- Heavy lifting of manufacturing materials and products is required
- Position will require regular stair climbing and extended periods of walking and standing
- Occasionally work in remote areas of the plant

- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be worn in compliance with Company standards and government regulations
- Extensions of regular working hours are occasionally necessary to complete time-sensitive projects or to respond to emergencies
- Maintains good working knowledge of SHE policies, rules/standards and procedures applicable to their area of responsibility
- Ensure employees are provided with the required training for area and jobs and tasks prior to assigning work
- Ensure the area of responsibility is maintained in an orderly and safe manner
- Promptly reports unsafe working conditions to management and communicates potential hazards to affected employees
- Promptly reports all incidents/accidents to management and conducts/participate in incident investigation as soon as practicable (but no later than 24 hours from time of incident)
- Maintains good working knowledge of Quality and Product Safety policies, rules and procedures applicable to area of responsibility
- Ensure employees are provided required training for area assigned, and jobs and tasks prior to assigning work
- Ensure area of responsibility is maintained in orderly and product safe manner
- Ensure unsafe product working conditions are remedied as soon as practicable
- Follows established laboratory procedures to ensure the safe and efficient operation to meet facility needs and production goals
- Works independently on routine duties but consults with supervisor on any problems
- Comply with governmental and company policies, regulations, and standards to ensure compliance
- Loads and unloads trucks and railcars with products, using computerized control stations, meters and scales
- Loads and unloads flammable liquids
- Inspects material handling equipment and performs routine adjustments and minor maintenance as needed
- Oversee and operate the meal loading and receiving area by HMI as well as make any changes required in the field
- Responds to equipment issues or alarms; investigates and initiates resolutions
- Ensures compliance with Company safety rules and wears proper personal protective equipment (PPE) as required in fulfillment of assigned responsibilities
- Ensures work area is kept free from safety hazards which require regular bending and occasional lifting
- Complete and maintain all training associated with the position, and all new criteria that becomes available in the future required by LDC
- Upholds all LDC Policy and standards
- Abides by all Work rules
- Ensures the timely receipt and delivery of all handled products
- Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision
- Interact professionally with co-workers, Company business associates and the general public

Desired Qualifications
- Technical degree
- Experience in handling flammable liquids
