Job Summary
Linux Systems Engineer (TS/SCI w/ poly) supporting an intelligence customer in a dual-site US-based role. Design, implement, and maintain enterprise Linux-based infrastructure in both on-prem and virtualized environments. Develop and maintain automation solutions using Ansible and scripting languages (Bash, Python). Standardize system configuration, patching, and deployment processes through infrastructure-as-code practices. Administer and support Red Hat ecosystem tools including Satellite and Capsule. Integrate and manage authentication/authorization mechanisms (OAuth, SSO, identity providers). Support and optimize virtualization platforms (Nutanix). Develop dashboards using observability tools such as Grafana and Zabbix. Troubleshoot complex system, performance, and integration issues across distributed environments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency. Document system architecture, processes, and automation workflows. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives including automation maturity and best practices. Location options include St. Louis, MO or Springfield, VA; US citizenship is required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience administering and engineering Linux systems in enterprise environments
- Strong expertise in configuration management and automation using Ansible
- Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python, or similar) for automation and tooling
- Experience managing Red Hat-based environments (RHEL, Satellite, Capsule) or similar tools
- Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure and performance issues
- Experience implementing security best practices in Linux environments
- Experience with virtualization platforms such as Nutanix
- Experience with monitoring and alerting systems
- Active TS/SCI clearance required and eligibility to obtain a CI poly
- Knowledge of authentication/authorization concepts (OAuth, LDAP, SSO)
- Experience with observability/dashboarding tools such as Grafana and Zabbix
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation
- Strong communication and documentation skills
