Linux Engineer (DevOps / Infrastructure)

Job Summary
Proactively maintain and develop all Linux infrastructure technology to ensure 24x7 service availability while managing best practices across physical, virtual, and cloud environments. Provide L1, L2, and L3 server support, coordinate software upgrades, patches, and hot fixes, and create scripts to automate tasks using Shell, Perl, or Python. Manage virtual machines in internal ESX farms and AWS, collaborate on automation strategies, and contribute to improving system stability, security, and scalability. The role requires 8+ years of Linux administration experience with expertise in RedHat, OpenShift, and cloud technologies, supporting a team focused on continuous improvement and technical growth.

- Provide L1,L2,L3 level server support
- Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on servers
- Create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks
- Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment
- Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes
- Manage and maintain virtual machines in internal ESX farm as well as in AWS
- Previous working experience as a Linux Administrator for 8+ years
- Previous working experience with external cloud technologies (AWS, Azure etc.)
- Previous working experience with OpenShift/Kubernetes etc. deployed in internal infra.
- In depth knowledge of Linux: RedHat both physical and virtual environment
- Hands on experience with physical/VM server deployments and commissioning
- Experience / knowledge on various HPE or other server hardware and architecture
- Expert in automation using Ansible or any other tools
- Capable of Automation using scripting language such as Shell, Perl and/or Python scripting
- Strong problem solving and communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- MS Windows OS knowledge
- Good to have knowledge on Veritas cluster and Veritas Storage Foundation
- Good to have worked on / knowledge of tools such as BigFix, OneView, ITRS, Service Now, SCOM, CyberArk
