Job Summary
Translate complex financial content between English and Japanese with high accuracy and terminological consistency. Ensure translations reflect market-specific systems, terminology, and formatting conventions while applying rigorous quality standards for precise, unambiguous output. Collaborate closely with production and quality teams to meet client requirements and deadlines. This role requires native-level proficiency in Japanese, a graduate qualification in translation or linguistics, or equivalent professional experience, and is best suited as a supplemental income stream for independent contractors. Most tasks require a minimum of 2 hours per day or 10 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- Native-level proficiency in the target language(s)
- A graduate qualification in translation, linguistics, or language studies
- A graduate qualification in another field plus 2 years of full-time professional translation experience
- 5 years of full-time professional translation experience
- The ability to follow terminology and reference materials precisely
- Proven professional experience in translation and localization within the financial domain
