Job Summary
TransPerfect is seeking a bilingual Linguist - French Canadian to translate and proofread high-visibility banking and insurance content for the Canadian market. The role involves translating and proofreading documents to mirror the source, maintaining brand coherence across projects, actively using client glossaries and translation memories, performing project QA, and supporting the brand through copy-adaptation and transcreation when needed. The position supports hybrid work from the Montreal office, and requires strong written and spoken fluency in Canadian French and English, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects with tight deadlines. The role also includes occasional training or mentoring of team members and collaboration with project managers to align with client preferences and style guides. It emphasizes staying aligned with brand messaging for luxury banking/insurance content and delivering high-quality localized materials.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or certificate in translation or equivalent
- Excellent command of Canadian French and English
- Experience translating and proofreading banking and insurance documents
- Excellent MS Office skills and experience with CAT tools and translation memory
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Attention to language details, orthography, and grammar
- Ability to adapt to client glossaries and style guides
- Experience with copy-adapt/adaptive editing/transcreation
- Experience mentoring or onboarding team members (optional)
- Professionalism and customer-focused mindset

- Excellent MS Office skills and experience with Computer-Assisted Translation tools
