Job Summary
Transport filled bins of clean linens and collect soiled linen from the laundry chute for return. Record quantities of linen items on exchange carts, stationary carts, shelves, and closets. Load linen items into carts, shelves, or closets, ensuring the cleanliness of the linen room. Communicate with hospital staff and address concerns regarding laundry services. Push and pull wheeled linen bins and carts weighing more than 600 pounds while lifting linens up to 50 pounds. Follow safety protocols, including using protective equipment and handling chemicals properly. Report all incidents following company policies.
Required Qualifications
- Be able to walk throughout the Hospital
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for a long time, stooping and bending at the waist
- Lift linens and supplies that weigh up to 50 lb. to a height of 5 feet
- Push and pull wheeled linen bins and carts weighing more than 600 pounds
- Counting and using simple arithmetic
- Be willing to encounter infectious medical waste (i.e., feces, vomit, blood) while wearing appropriate protective equipment
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be able and willing to smile during every customer interaction
- Maintain uniform standards while around the account
- Be able to pass a criminal background check
