Job Summary
Perform aerial fiber optic communications installation, including placing metallic strand, installing pole hardware, and tensioning down guys. Install and repair lines in various environments, climb wooded utility poles, and operate bucket trucks for new cable installs, pole transfers, and strand building. Provide 24/7 emergency response support while maintaining professional attitudes with co-workers and customers. Work Monday through Friday with overtime available, lifting up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2/3 years of relative experience
- CDL A
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- At least 21 years old
- Must be able to lift 50 lb minimum
- Must be able to climb wooded utility poles and perform line work off hooks
- Experienced in Bucket Truck Operation
- Experienced in New Cable Installs
- Experienced in Pole Transfers
- Experienced in Strand Building
- Experienced in Cable Hanging
- Experienced in Lashing
- Experienced in Over Lashing
- Experienced in Wreck Out
- Experienced in Make Ready
- Must be able to complete online OSHA and safety-related certification
- Must be able to provide 24/7 emergency response support
- Must be available for overtime
