Job Summary
Lineman I Telecom: Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable, set up safety perimeters, and operate tools and equipment including bucket trucks and climbing gear. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Valid state driver’s license (not provisional) with acceptable driving record
- Must be able to pass a background check and company drug screening
- Must be able to attend and pass all required training
- May be required to work over-time, after hours, weekends, or be on-call as needed
- May include working nights and holidays as needed
- May travel in state or overnight as necessary to meet business needs
- Regular and timely attendance
- Previous construction experience, preferably in telecommunications
- Knowledge of aerial cable installation procedures and techniques
- Ability to climb telephone poles and operate a bucket truck up to 40 feet
- Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs with/without assistance
- Color code system knowledge or willingness to learn
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate with internal/external customers
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Safety-conscious with ability to follow procedures
