Job Summary
Lineman C-A role responsible for installation, rearrangement, maintenance, operation, removal and inspection of electrical transmission/distribution facilities, including overhead and underground work. Responsibilities span assembling, installing, testing, energizing and troubleshooting conductors, cables, transformers, and related equipment, operating line trucks and related gear, directing subordinate staff, completing monthly apprentice cards, and progressively advancing through line classifications from C to A. Requires live-line work competencies up to specified voltages, adherence to safety practices, and the ability to work under supervision with escalating responsibility. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, valid Class A CDL, and relevant electrical power line experience or equivalent education (including apprentice training/B-200 certification). The position emphasizes physical stamina, safety instruction delivery, and progression toward higher classifications within the line mechanic family.
Required Qualifications

- Minimum of one year distribution electrical power line work experience, OR one year of related line experience defined as: successful completion of a one year electrical power line school certificate plus a minimum of 16 weeks internship or distribution electrical power line experience, or an Associate degree from an electrical power line school which includes a minimum of 16 weeks internship or distribution electrical power line experience
- Shall have performed the duties of and have all the qualifications of Line Mechanic D or the equivalent and shall qualify through demonstration, examination and/or performance appraisal as determined by the Company
- Must acquire within such time frame as determined by the Company, the qualifications necessary to perform the duties of the next higher classification in the line of progression, or vacate the current job classification

- Successful completion of apprentice lineman training, including B-200 certification written test with a score of 80% or higher and successful completion of hands-on comprehensive demonstrations
- External candidates must have a minimum of 4 years line work experience and successful completion of the journeyman pre-assessment
