Job Summary
Apprentice Lineman B performs construction, repair and maintenance of electrical overhead distribution systems. Responsibilities include climbing poles or using truck-mounted buckets to access equipment, safely constructing, maintaining, and repairing overhead and underground distribution systems and substations, identifying defective components via diagrams and testing instruments, splicing cables, pulling conductors, installing cross-arms and insulators, trenching and pole setting, and ensuring safety and traffic control around work areas. Requires CDL-B, own tools, physical endurance, ability to travel on short notice, and willingness to work irregular hours, weekends, and holidays. Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2.5 years of experience in groundman and lineman work (lineman training school qualifies for experience; field assessment to determine competency)
- Possess at minimum a valid CDL-B license
- Possess your own tools
- Ability to handle physically demanding construction duties in harsh weather conditions
- Ability to read and follow instructions
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Ability to hear a long distance and have color vision and depth perception
