Job Summary
Lineman-A responsible for skilled electrical work in construction, maintenance, and operation of underground and overhead distribution or transmission systems, with potential supervision of others. Performs tasks per standard trade practices, monitors safety and workmanship, and handles diverse duties such as switching, grounding, climbing poles or operating bucket trucks, installing and maintaining conductors, cables, transformers, and related equipment. Requires reading diagrams, testing with instruments, coordinating with team, and working in varied weather and environments; candidates should have a minimum 4 years of related experience and a valid CDL-B license, with High School/GED and lineman-training preferred.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 4 years’ directly related experience.
- Valid CDL-B license
- Own tools
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Ability to read and follow instructions
- Ability to handle physically demanding construction duties in harsh weather conditions
- Ability to hear long distances
- Ability to see long distances and differentiate between colors, have clear depth perception, and peripheral vision
- Ability to work without supervision
- Ability to communicate well with others
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- Completion of a Lineman training school preferred
