Job Summary
Linehaul driver with SYGMA to transport products from warehouse to customer locations on long-haul routes (PA, FL, OH, and other states). Position requires safely operating tractor-trailer, loading/unloading per customer specifications, completing DOT and company paperwork, maintaining food-safety temperatures, and communicating route/product issues to management. Work involves 2-3 days out, overnight scheduling, and ongoing customer service with emphasis on safety, compliance, and efficient delivery. Must have a High School diploma or GED/equivalent, 1 year tractor-trailer driving experience (driving school accepted), and a valid Class A CDL. Knowledge of DOT regulations and Hazmat guidelines, ability to read/write English, basic math skills, and ability to operate heavy equipment are required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED/equivalent degree, plus 1 year of tractor-trailer driving experience preferred
- Completion of a tractor-trailer driving school will be accepted instead of, or in addition to a high school diploma
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
- Must be insurable to operate a vehicle as a condition of initial and continued employment
- Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations; Hazmat guidelines; Safe lifting and delivery practices
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English related to job and safety regulations
- Operate a 3 axle tractor, 45' - 48' trailer, straight truck, onboard computer
- Perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- Experience driving over long distances, varied terrains, varying weather conditions
- Overnight schedule, weekends, overtime, on-call as required
- Meet or exceed minimum productivity levels established by the Company
