Job Summary
Linehaul driving role delivering Sysco/ Sygma product via tractor-trailer to customer locations with adherence to DOT and company guidelines. Responsibilities include safely transporting product from warehouse to customer, loading/unloading per specifications, maintaining accurate paperwork (logs, inspections, maintenance reports, invoices, bill of ladings), following food safety protocols, communicating route/status issues to management, maintaining and operating equipment, and building courteous customer relationships. Must be willing to travel on long-haul routes (2–3 days out) to states such as PA, FL, OH, and others, with overnight and weekend work as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- Completion of tractor-trailer driving school accepted in addition to high school diploma
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
- Must be insurable to operate a vehicle
- Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and Hazmat guidelines
- Ability to drive a tractor-trailer in day and night conditions and in varying weather
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English related to job and safety regulations
- Basic math skills (add/subtract/multiply/divide) and ability to plan and organize work independently
