Job Summary
Plan, direct, and coordinate the movement of regional and national LTL shipments by developing geographical-specific plans to ensure service standards are achieved economically. Manage freight flow and resources to reduce partial and empty dispatches while directing the use of Purchased Transportation and Intermodal services. Coordinate LCV lanes in designated geographical areas as required. This role is based at the Tonawanda, NY Service Center and requires experience with PC, Database, and Mainframe applications alongside strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Full-time employment includes Monday through Friday shifts with various schedules.
Required Qualifications
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Experience using PC, Database, and Mainframe applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Basic knowledge or Windows, Outlook and other Microsoft products
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as a freight dispatcher or similar role in a fast pace environment
- Experience in freight truck routing
- Experience in LTL freight or similar industry
