Job Summary
Line Striper-Pavement Marking Technician responsible for laying out and installing pavement markings on roadways, parking lots, and airports. Operates and maintains a range of pavement-marking equipment (airless paint machines, epoxy and polyurea trucks, thermoplastic trucks and tools, water-blasting removal trucks), conducts field measurements from engineered plans or Google Earth, tracks quantities, and performs traffic control including flagging and short-term lane closures. Adheres to DOT and company safety policies, conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and supports a team-driven striping crew. Requires strong mechanical aptitude, adaptability to new technology, a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred), and union membership; able to work outdoors in varied conditions, and willing to work days, nights, weekends, and occasional travel. Prior pavement marking or highway-construction experience is a plus. Benefits include union-related healthcare, pension, and CDL training; overtime and lodging/per diem for overnight stays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License
- CDL preferred
- Must comply with DOT Drug Control Program and pre-employment/random drug testing
- Must join Laborers Local Union #1058 and pay dues
- Flagging Certification or Traffic Control Technician Certification
- Ability to load/unload, drive company trucks, and operate pavement marking equipment
- Willing to work days, nights, weekends, and travel
- Ability to perform measurements, maintain equipment, and comply with safety procedures
