Job Summary
Clear rights of way and trim trees while learning to operate vehicles, chainsaws, woodchippers, and bucket trucks under supervision. Maintain organized workspaces, complete paperwork, and use two-way radios and mobile devices as assigned. Perform physical tasks including lifting loads, climbing poles, and working aloft with aerial lifts in varied environmental conditions. Follow all safety rules, policies, and regulations while practicing safe working habits. May assist with distribution utility construction and service functions.
Required Qualifications
- willingness and ability to work in a wide variety of environmental conditions, including but not limited to heat, cold, rain, snow/ice, etc.
- willingness and ability to work in a constant state of alertness and focus
- ability to lift light and medium loads frequently and assist with heavy loads occasionally
- ability to use stairs and ladders
- ability to work in a wide variety of positions and postures including but not limited to overhead, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and twisting
- ability to work aloft, including but not limited to aerial lifts, ladders, and climbing trees or poles
- ability to operate two-way radio equipment, mobile devices, and other technology
